Promoting Gender Equality

AISDA has a Gender, Culture and Disability (GCD) Inclusiveness policy. AISDA implements its policy and promotes cultural inclusiveness with its various project beneficiaries. So, our organization considers various population groups such as women and men, girls and boys, people living with disabilities, elderly to ensure inclusiveness and they benefit from the projects.

To ensure gender equality and women empowerment in AISDAs intervention areas ,the following commitments have been realized: Board members and the executives are committed to ensure gender mainstreaming; the board members pledges to advocate for gender equality and the empowerment of women;  the senior management, lower level managers and other staff of AISDA have been working hard and hand in hand to ensure mainstreaming of gender perspectives; every year, AISDA a allocates adequate resources to integrate gender perspectives in all its intervention areas; AISDA has organized a Gender Core Group at Head Office and Project Offices to improve staff awareness and bring attitudinal changes through facilitating/conducting organizational gender conversation/dialogue on a quarterly basis; every year, AISDA organizes capacity building trainings and experience sharing visits on gender issues to support gender equality and women empowerment; AISDA has been taking in to account/consider all gender issues during project identification, project formulation/design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of projects. AISDA has also been facilitating the participation and even representation of women in various institutional structures like committees, user groups etc.
